Asian Beauty:Nao.S | Deadly chemical was lucky 'charm' for girl arrested for poisoning mother

A 16-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after poisoning her mother with the toxic chemical thallium has told police she carried the substance with her as a charm.
"I carried thallium with me in a small bottle as a charm," the girl, whose name has been withheld because she is a minor, was quoted as telling police.
When asked what she used the thallium for, she reportedly told police it was for "experiments," but did not elaborate.
During investigations into the incident, the girl admitted that she had bought the chemical from a pharmacy. Police confiscated 20 small bottles in her room, each measuring about 5 cm high and having a diameter of about 2 cm. She is thought to have carried the thallium around with her in powder and liquid form in these bottles.
After the incident was uncovered, it emerged that the 16-year-old had posted details on the deteriorating condition of her 47-year-old mother in her online blog. Police are continuing to question her over her motives for the incident.
